How do I know if counseling is right for me?
Counseling can be beneficial if you are experiencing emotional distress, relationship challenges, grief, anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, or simply feel stuck. Therapy provides a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore concerns, develop coping skills, gain insight, and work toward meaningful change.
What can I expect during the first appointment?
The first session focuses on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to counseling. We will discuss your current concerns, relevant history, strengths, goals, and any questions you may have about the therapeutic process. Together, we will begin developing a plan that supports your needs and desired outcomes.
How long does therapy take?
The length of therapy varies depending on your goals, the concerns being addressed, and the pace that feels comfortable for you. Some individuals benefit from short-term therapy focused on specific concerns, while others engage in longer-term work to address deeper patterns, trauma, or ongoing life challenges.
What is the therapeutic process like?
Therapy is a collaborative process designed to help you better understand yourself, navigate challenges, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful change. Together, we will identify goals, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical strategies to support healing and growth.
While therapy can be challenging at times, it can also be a rewarding process that promotes increased self-awareness, resilience, emotional wellness, and personal growth.
Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Do you provide EMDR therapy?
Yes. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based treatment that can be used to help individuals process traumatic experiences, distressing memories, and other experiences that continue to impact emotional well-being. Not every client is an appropriate candidate for EMDR, and readiness for EMDR is assessed collaboratively.

Additional fees may apply for extended sessions or professional services outside of regularly scheduled appointments.
How often will I attend therapy?
The frequency of counseling is determined collaboratively based on your needs, goals, and clinical recommendations. Sessions may occur weekly, biweekly, monthly, or at another frequency that supports your treatment goals.
Is everything I share confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of the therapeutic relationship. Information shared in counseling is generally protected by law. However, there are exceptions, including situations involving concerns about harm to self or others, suspected abuse or neglect, or court orders requiring disclosure.
Confidentiality policies are reviewed in greater detail during the informed consent process.
Can I contact you between sessions?
Clients may communicate regarding scheduling or administrative concerns through the client portal, phone, or other approved communication methods. Electronic communication should not be used for emergencies or urgent mental health concerns.
If you are experiencing a crisis, please call 911, contact 988, or go to your nearest emergency department.
What if I need FMLA paperwork, disability paperwork, or a letter?
Requests for administrative documentation, including FMLA paperwork, disability forms, accommodation requests, or letters, are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Completion of documentation is not guaranteed and remains at the clinical discretion of the therapist. In some situations, clients may be referred to another attending physician or healthcare provider for additional evaluation or documentation.
Additional fees may apply for administrative paperwork and professional documentation services.
